Emissive
Lucy Cameron
AWAKE explores the contrast between the beauty your eyes consume in the day, and the struggle in closing them at night.
The night begins with the documentary short, AWAKE, by Lucy Cameron. Emissive will provide live ambient electronic composition dedicated to insomnia following the screening.
Headlining is Joseph Shabason, Canadian multi-instrumentalist and composer, best known for playing the saxophone and member of bands such as DIANA, Destroyer and The War on Drugs. As a solo project, he has released experimental ambient jazz albums under his own name. For this special performance, he will be accompanied by his composed band of highly acclaimed musicians (Thom Gill, Bram Gielen, Hugh Marsh, Phil Melanson and Nicole Rampersaud) improvising their daydreams.
