The Music Gallery is pleased to present EMERGENTS I, a 4-part series entitled Possible Worlds December 14-17. The events are dedicated to the notion of musical world-building, participating artists are encouraged to explore and improvise with instruments and experiment with collaborative performances.
Night one is a workshop led by saxophonist, clarinetist, instrument maker, and MG family member Naomi McCarroll-Butler, who will be leading us through a series of guided improvisations using graphic scores and conduction. Aimed at community members and early-career artists interested in exploring collective music-making, this will be a space for people with different artistic interests and backgrounds to meet, speak and create together.
All levels and forms of musical experience are encouraged, and knowledge of musical notation is not required. There will be space to participate or to observe, and sound making objects will be provided onsite. If you play an instrument, bring it!
