DESCRIPTION:meta.ksi\, a collective of composer\, artist\, and design-curators based between the United States and Greece\, presents “Muted Blast (.2)”\, for 4 musicians and live electronics. Compositions and sound installations by meta.ksi and affiliated composers are performed in dialogue with poetry responding to austerity measures\, and post-crisis Greece. The program explores elements of prepared acoustic instruments\, video\, and machine learning. Pre and post concert\, there is an experimental score exhibition\, alongside fixed electronic pieces.

The ensemble features some of the most adventurous vocalists in Canadian contemporary music with practices spanning from extended voice to noise\, early music and experimental theatre. The group will present their daring interpretation of Claude Vivier’s “Love Songs” and other works. \nFor this performance\, they invite local emerging pop-art duo xLq as a guest performer.
