DESCRIPTION:A braid of dance and music exploring the intricacies of texture in nature. \nWhile night three of X Avant XIX: TeXture splits into two separate features of movement and later sound\, both converge to reveal the spectrums and geometries that lay within nature. The first part of the night features Mossbelly offering gestures of dance and performance that gently tap\, pitter-patter\, and slide across the floor in reverence to a fuzzy friend from nature. This intergenerational performance is a choreographic meditation on our human connection to land\, plant life\, nature\, and time. \nAdmission to Mossbelly (Weave\, Part 1) is free or by donation. Advance registration is available. \nAs Mossbelly’s performance opens the night\, if you want to spend the full evening with the Music Gallery be sure to get your tickets for Weave\, Part 2 featuring Rafael Toral and Nyda Kwasowsky (doors at 8:00 pm\, performance at 8:30 pm).

Following the sunset for the second part of the night\, Rafael Toral blends ambient\, experimental electronics\, and rock via electric guitar to create spaces for silence. Focused on disconnecting listeners from information and sensory overload\, he encourages reconnection with sacredness\, presence\, and the land. \nOpening the evening in our gallery room is a looped audio and dance presentation by artist Nyda Kwasowsky exploring textile\, tradition\, and sound. \nThese performances are the second part of the evening (doors at 8:00 pm\, performance at 8:30 pm)\, and it is a ticketed event. \nIf you want to start your evening at the Music Gallery earlier\, you may also register for Weave\, Part 1 for free or by donation.
