PULSE Presents: Stories from the Front Lines of Music and Medicine

PULSE: Stories From the Front Lines of Music & Medicine combines storytelling and live instrumental and vocal music, inviting the audience into a music therapist’s experience of working with individuals with life-limiting illnesses. This performance will feature compositions by Brahms, Debussy, Bach, and Beethoven, alongside songs by The Beatles, George Gershwin, Stephen Schwartz, Queen, and Lady Gaga, with narration by an oncology/palliative care music therapist. Led by cellist Dr. Andrew Ascenzo and music therapist Dr. SarahRose Black, and featuring a superb lineup of guest musicians, including singer-songwriter Michaela Bekenn, violinist Bora Kim, and pianist Jialiang Zhu.
