Posted on: Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Due to popular demand, we have opened up the printmaking workshop to participants of any age!

OPEN YOUTH PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP

Saturday, October 9th from 2-4pm

Coordinated by Tara Cooper & Nicholas Shick with the support of the OCAD Printmaking Department and Midoco Art & Office Supplies

The 918 Bathurst Centre is hosting a one-day printmaking workshop as part of the Open Studio’s Printopolis Festival, Saturday October 9, 2-4pm. Printopolis is a citywide festival celebrating the many forms of printmaking. Participants will be introduced to the basic techniques involved in screen printing and stenciling.

Artists Tara Cooper and Nicholas Shick of the OCAD Printmaking Department, along with the help of OCAD students, will provide thorough demonstrations, and then the participants will each create their own original works. At least one work by each participant will be displayed in the Centre’s new gallery space – Gallery 918 – for the duration of the Festival alongside Nicholas Shick’s exhibition, In Pursuit.

To keep the workshop accessible, registration is only $10.00!

The 918 Bathurst Centre for Culture, Arts, Media & Education wishes to thank artists Tara Cooper and Nicholas Shick for donating their time, resources, and talents, and our partners and sponsors – the OCAD Printmaking Department and Lonsdale Gallery.
